People of Parallel: Cassie Bussey

If you spend any time around ag, you know some people are just born into it, and Cassie Bussey is one of them. Growing up on a large-scale alfalfa farm in southeastern New Mexico, Cassie knew from a young age that agriculture would always be part of her story.

Before joining Parallel Ag, Cassie’s path included selling boots at western wear stores during college, working in banking, and spending four years in equipment sales with a John Deere dealership in New Mexico. When she and her family moved closer to Muleshoe in 2018, coming to work for Livingston Machinery, now Parallel Ag, felt like the right move, especially with longtime friendships and strong leadership already in place.

Cassie grew up in the small ag town of Dexter, NM and moved to Lubbock at 18 to attend Texas Tech University. She’s a proud mom to two kids, Riley, 18, and Tate, 9, and lives in Farwell, Texas with her husband Travis, right on the Texas-New Mexico state line.

What drew Cassie to Parallel Ag was the people. From her longstanding friendship with Kyle Kennedy to the reputation Earl Livingston built for doing business the right way, joining the Parallel Ag family was an honor that began when she was hired by Tom Ladd in 2018.

With over 7.5 years at Parallel Ag, Cassie has made countless memories, but a few stand out more than most, especially the sales deep sea fishing trips to Port Aransas. Those trips helped turn coworkers into family and created bonds that go far beyond the workplace. Looking ahead, Cassie hopes to continue building lasting relationships with both customers and coworkers that turn into lifelong friendships.

When she’s not working, Cassie’s favorite hobby is spending time with her family. From mid-May to mid-September, you’ll likely find them at the lake wake surfing, tubing, and fully embracing lake life.

We’re grateful to have Cassie as part of the Parallel Ag team and appreciate the experience, dedication, and heart she brings to everything she does.
