Our Foundation

Livingston Machinery began with the simple goal of providing the best products and service to the agricultural community who work hard to help feed the world. The goal has remained the same but the company has experienced tremendous growth since the original vision of founder, Earl Livingston.

“Earl Livingston built this company around the life of the American farmer; to be there when they needed him and with the right tools to get the job done.”

Where we started – 1980’s

The Chickasha, Oklahoma based company began in 1987 when Earl and wife Sharon opened a small shop to buy and sell used equipment within the local community. A year later, the dealership was awarded the Hesston contract for the area, allowing for the first Big Balers to appear in southwestern Oklahoma. Livingston established other Hesston lines, including round balers, mower conditioners and windrowers to provide full service agricultural equipment to the region.

Expansion and Growth – 1990’s

A few years after our humble beginnings, Livingston Machinery Company began to outgrow our first location. After acquiring a local competitor in 1990, Earl Livingston moved the company to the current location south of Chickasha on Highway 81 and set his sights on expansion. He accomplished this goal when the second location was opened in 1996 in Fairview, Oklahoma.

“As LMC grew and expanded in Oklahoma, farmers came to know the business as an expert in the hay industry and nicknamed the company, Big Baler USA.”

A Growing Reputation of Service – 2000’s

In the same way we strive to take care of our customers, LMC has always been known to care for our employees. By 2009, the employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) program was put into action to provide Livingston Machinery team members with an ownership interest in the company. Thus ensuring that Livingston Machinery will remain ever present in the future to supply for its employees and valued customers.

Extraordinary Partnerships and Further Development – 2010’s

Faced with a company growth spurt, our customers became more widespread after 2010 and provided us the opportunity to expand across state lines. Since 2014, Livingston Machinery has expanded to Muleshoe and Dalhart, Texas to better serve our North Texas customers. In early 2016, Livingston Machinery and its 100+ employees welcomed the addition of the agricultural spray lines of RoGator and TerraGator, along with the powerful line of Challenger tractors. Now with a complete line of products needed to support farmers from weekend hobbyists to large producers, Livingston Machinery proudly serves customers across Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, New Mexico, Colorado and Arizona.

Livingston Machinery Partners for Growth – 2020’s

In a time of uncertainty, with a variety of industries struggling from the impact of COVID-19, agriculture remained strong and resilient. Because of our fortitude, Livingston Machinery Company was presented an opportunity to better provide for our customers, employees and stimulate growth for the business. In October 2020, LMC signed a Letter of Intent (“LOI”) to partner with Ag Solutions Group of Des Moines, Iowa. The purchase of the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) was finalized in April 2021. With evolving opportunities for employees and renewed dedication to our customers, we look forward to what the future holds for Livingston Machinery Company, Powered by Ag Solutions Group.
