A Rowse single bar mower cuts hay fields in either a trailing or 3-point mounted configuration. Both styles run on a 540 RPM tractor PTO and need just one hydraulic valve for the bar lift. Because a rugged V-belt drive powers the cutter bar, the mower delivers consistent cutting speed across long days. A break-away safety release protects the bar on impact, then re-latches automatically once the mower backs away. Operators can choose a 7-foot or 9-foot cutter bar depending on tractor horsepower and field size. Buyers can equip a Rowse single bar mower with a New Holland-style Pitmanless head or an IH-style Balanced head. The Pitmanless head reduces noise and vibration while running at 1,600 strokes per minute. Meanwhile, the IH Balanced head uses just three moving parts on six tapered roller bearings for faster travel. That design pushes the sickle to 2,000 strokes per minute for quicker cutting. Because the cutter bar lifts hydraulically to a vertical position, transport stays quick and easy between fields.
