The STIHL FSA 85 is a professional, battery-powered straight-shaft trimmer built for landscaping in noise-restricted or densely populated areas — roughly five times quieter than its gas equivalent, with no fuel costs and zero exhaust emissions. It runs on STIHL’s 36V AP or AR battery system (AP 300 recommended), cutting a 13.8″ swath with full power maintained right up until the battery is depleted. A variable speed trigger gives precise control around delicate plantings, it starts instantly for quick spot trimming, and the loop handle (thumb screw, no tools) and rubberized soft-touch grip keep it comfortable through longer jobs.
